LOS ANGELES-- Pop diva Mariah Carey, freshly returned from Bosnia, won the $100 first-prize Saturday night for best karaokee performance at Nick's Western Grill and Pub. Ms. Carey, who beat out seven other contestants for the top prize, won with her rendition of "Obla Di Obla Da". Most of the pub's guests were delighted to see and hear the celebrity perform for them. However, Jill St. Croix, who drove in from Tarzana, was not impressed. "Why did she have to show up here tonight!" said Jill, who placed second singing "The Lion Sleeps Tonight". "I could have used that hundred dollars more than that [Mariah]!" |
